Important limitations to know

Flarelight helps you find software development companies, but we're not magic. Here's what we can and can't guarantee.

About Our Verification

When we say a company is "verified," we mean we've confirmed:

  • The company is a legally registered business entity
  • The company representatives who claimed the profile are authorized to do so
  • Portfolio samples and client references have been reviewed
  • Basic business information (location, team size, services) is accurate

What Verification Does NOT Mean

Verification is not a guarantee of quality, reliability, or fit for your specific project. A verified badge means we've done our homework - not that they're the right choice for you.

No Guarantee of Outcomes

We cannot and do not guarantee:

  • The quality of work you'll receive from any company
  • That projects will be completed on time or on budget
  • That you'll be satisfied with the results
  • That companies will honor their commitments
  • The accuracy of information provided by companies or reviewers

Hiring decisions are complex and depend on many factors we can't control. Use Flarelight as one input in your decision-making process, not as the sole basis for hiring.

Third-Party Content

Much of the content on Flarelight comes from third parties:

  • Company Profiles: Information provided by company representatives
  • Reviews: Opinions submitted by users who claim to have worked with companies
  • Portfolio Items: Work samples submitted by companies

While we moderate and verify content, we cannot guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or truthfulness. Companies may exaggerate capabilities. Reviewers may have biases. Use critical judgment.

Not Professional Advice

Flarelight does not provide:

  • Legal Advice: We're not lawyers. Consult an attorney for contracts and legal matters.
  • Financial Advice: We can't tell you if a quote is fair or how to structure payments.
  • Technical Advice: We don't evaluate whether a company's proposed approach is sound.

For significant projects, consider hiring independent consultants to review proposals and contracts before signing.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Flarelight is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform
  • We are not liable for the actions or omissions of companies listed on our platform
  • We are not responsible for disputes between users and companies

See our Terms of Use for the full legal language.

Do Your Due Diligence

We strongly recommend that you:

  1. Read multiple reviews, not just the most recent or most positive
  2. Contact companies directly and ask for additional references
  3. Request and verify portfolio samples relevant to your project
  4. Start with a small pilot project before committing to large engagements
  5. Have contracts reviewed by a legal professional
  6. Establish clear milestones and payment schedules
  7. Document everything in writing

Changes to Companies

Companies change over time. A company that was great last year might have:

  • Lost key team members
  • Taken on too many clients
  • Changed ownership or management
  • Pivoted to different services

Verification and reviews reflect a point in time. Recent reviews are generally more relevant than older ones.
